What a Psychiatric Evaluation Includes
Your first appointment is a comprehensive conversation with a board-certified psychiatric clinician. Together you will review:
What brings you in and how your symptoms affect daily life
Your mental health history, including past diagnoses and treatment
Current and past medications, and what has or has not helped
Relevant medical history, sleep, substance use and stressors
Your goals for treatment
By the end of the visit you will have a clear picture of what may be going on and an initial plan. That may include medication, a referral for therapy, lab work, or simply a follow-up to keep evaluating.

Insurance and Cost
We are in-network with Blue Cross Blue Shield, Aetna, Harvard Pilgrim Health Care, Optum, Tufts Health Plan, Wellpoint, UnitedHealthcare, HPI, Mass General Brigham Health Plan, Carelon, UMR and UniCare. With in-network coverage you are typically responsible only for your plan's copay, coinsurance or remaining deductible, whether your visit is by video or in person.
Self-pay is also available, and self-pay rates are provided when you book. We are not able to bill Medicare, Medicaid or supplemental plans. See insurance and payment and our Good Faith Estimate for details.
ADHD Medication and Controlled Substances
Some medications, including ADHD stimulants and other controlled substances, are prescribed on a case-by-case basis. That decision depends on your evaluation, your history and records, and the state and federal rules that apply to telehealth prescribing, and in some cases an in-person visit may be needed. Your clinician will talk through the options that are appropriate and safe for you, including non-controlled alternatives.
Frequently Asked Questions
Do I have to travel from Attleboro for my evaluation?
No. Attleboro patients can complete every appointment by secure video. In-person visits are available at our Medway office, Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.
How quickly can I be seen?
New patients are typically seen within days. Complete the quick form and we will reach out to schedule.
What should I bring to my first appointment?
A list of your current medications and doses, any past diagnoses or treatment, and the questions you want answered.
Can a psychiatric nurse practitioner prescribe medication?
Yes. Our board-certified psychiatric nurse practitioners and clinical nurse specialists are licensed in Massachusetts to evaluate, diagnose and prescribe psychiatric medication.
Do you prescribe Adderall or other ADHD medications?
ADHD medications, including stimulants, are prescribed case by case based on your evaluation, history and the rules that apply to telehealth prescribing. Some patients may need an in-person visit or prior records first. Your clinician will discuss what is appropriate for you.
Is a video appointment as effective as an in-person visit?
For most adults and most conditions, yes. The history-taking, diagnostic process and confidentiality are the same. If your clinician feels in-person care would serve you better, they will tell you.
Do you offer therapy?
We focus on psychiatric evaluation and medication management. We coordinate with your therapist, or can help with a referral if you need one.
What ages do you see?
Adults 18 and older.
Is this for emergencies?
No. If you are in crisis, call 911 or call or text 988, the Suicide and Crisis Lifeline.
