About Greater Boston Psychiatric Services
Greater Boston Psychiatric Services (GBPS) was founded in 2016 by Caryn Metzger, MSN, PMHCNS-BC, with a simple goal: to make high-quality psychiatric care easier for adults across Massachusetts to access. Today, our team of board-certified psychiatric nurse practitioners and clinical nurse specialists provides psychiatric evaluations and ongoing medication management by secure video from anywhere in the state, or in person at our office in Medway.

Our Approach
We provide psychopharmacological (i.e., psychiatric medication) treatment for adults 18 and over. We work collaboratively with clients in developing a treatment plan focused on target symptoms in a pressure-free environment. Our approach incorporates traditional and complementary therapies, nutrition, exercise, stress management, and other healthy lifestyle changes — because medication is rarely the whole picture, even when it's the primary thing we manage directly.

We don't provide therapy ourselves, but many patients get the best results by combining medication management with psychotherapy from a separate licensed therapist, and we're glad to coordinate care with a therapist or primary care provider you're already seeing.

Conditions We Treat
We have extensive knowledge and experience in the assessment and treatment of depression, anxiety and panic disorders, ADHD, bipolar disorder, OCD, PTSD, sleep disturbance, mood and emotional regulation concerns, and schizophrenia, along with a wide range of other psychiatric disorders. Telehealth or In Person — Your Choice
Whether you're across the state or just down the road from Medway, you can be seen by video from wherever you are, or come in for a face-to-face appointment at our office. A team of board-certified psychiatric nurse practitioners and clinical nurse specialists—not a single provider— provides care, which typically means more scheduling flexibility and earlier appointment availability without sacrificing continuity of care.

Insurance & Self-Pay
We're in-network with Blue Cross Blue Shield, Aetna, Harvard Pilgrim Healthcare, Optum, Tufts Health Plan, Wellpoint, United Healthcare, HPI, Mass General Brigham, Carelon, UMR, and UniCare. Self-pay options are available. We cannot bill Medicare, Medicaid, or supplemental plans.
