Greater Boston Psychiatric Services provides ongoing telehealth medication management for adults throughout Cape Cod & the Islands — Cape Cod, Martha's Vineyard, and Nantucket. Follow-up visits happen by video, and lab work (when needed) is coordinated through labs near you rather than through our Medway office.

What Ongoing Medication Management Looks Like
Medication management follow-ups are typically 30-minute video appointments used to check how your current regimen is working, monitor for side effects, and adjust dosages or medications as needed. Specialized care is available for anxiety and depression, ADHD, bipolar disorder, and schizophrenia, among other conditions.
For medications that require blood-level or other lab monitoring, we're connected electronically to local labs, so you can complete labs near home and have results routed directly to our office. With your consent, we can also stay in contact with your therapist, primary care provider, or other specialists to keep your care coordinated.
How It Works
Schedule your follow-up. Visits are typically spaced based on where you are in treatment.
Meet by video. Your clinician reviews how your current regimen is working and any side effects.
Adjustments are made as needed. Prescriptions are sent electronically to your pharmacy.
Labs are coordinated locally. If your medication requires monitoring, you'll complete labs near home, with results routed directly to us.
Why Telehealth
A telehealth appointment follows the same clinical standard as an in-person visit — the same history-taking, the same diagnostic process, the same attention to confidentiality. What changes is simply where it happens: from home, work, or anywhere else in Massachusetts with a private space and a stable internet connection, rather than a waiting room.
Why Our Team
Care is provided by a team of board-certified psychiatric nurse practitioners and clinical nurse specialists rather than a single provider. That typically means more scheduling flexibility and earlier appointment availability than a solo practice, without giving up continuity of care — your clinician stays informed on your history across visits.
Insurance & Self-Pay
We are in-network with Blue Cross Blue Shield, Aetna, Harvard Pilgrim Healthcare, Optum, Tufts Health Plan, Wellpoint, United Healthcare, HPI, Mass General Brigham, Carelon, UMR, and UniCare. Self-pay options are available. We are unable to bill Medicare, Medicaid, or supplemental plans.
Frequently Asked Questions
How often will I need appointments for medication management?
Follow-up medication management visits are typically 30 minutes and scheduled based on your treatment stage — more frequently early on while a regimen is being adjusted, and further apart once symptoms are stable.
Can lab work be handled without an in-person visit to your office?
Yes. For medications that require blood-level or other lab monitoring, we're connected electronically to local labs near you — you walk in, have blood drawn, and the results route directly to our office for review.
Will you coordinate with my therapist or primary care provider?
With your written consent, yes. We can maintain contact with therapists, primary care providers, and other specialists involved in your care to keep your treatment coordinated.
Do you accept my insurance?
We're in-network with Blue Cross Blue Shield, Aetna, Harvard Pilgrim Healthcare, Optum, Tufts Health Plan, Wellpoint, United Healthcare, HPI, Mass General Brigham, Carelon, UMR, and UniCare, and self-pay is available. We cannot bill Medicare, Medicaid, or supplemental plans.
What conditions can be managed through telehealth medication management?
We provide ongoing medication management for anxiety and depression, ADHD, bipolar disorder, and schizophrenia, among other conditions. Your clinician can tell you during your evaluation whether telehealth is appropriate for your specific situation.
I'm already taking medication prescribed by another provider — can you take over my care?
In many cases, yes. Bring a list of your current medications and any relevant records to your first appointment, and your clinician will review your history before making any changes.
How do prescriptions actually get to me?
Prescriptions are sent electronically directly to your pharmacy of choice — there's no paper script to pick up or mail.
What happens if a medication isn't working or causes side effects?
That's exactly what follow-up visits are for. Tell your clinician what you're experiencing, and adjustments — whether to dosage or to the medication itself — can be made at your next appointment, or sooner if needed.
